AUSTIN, Texas — Redshirt freshman KJ Jackson earned praise from interim coach Bobby Petrino, a longtime quarterback guru, and his teammates for his relief role in Saturday’s 52-37 loss at No. 17 Texas.
Jackson played his most meaningful snaps as a Razorback after starter Taylen Green came out with apparent tightness in his hamstrings early in the third quarter. Even after Green was cleared to return, Petrino opted to stick with the left-hander, who directed a field goal drive in his first series then a pair of touchdown drives in the final 11 minutes after Texas built a 52-23 lead.
