Arkansas football notebook: CJ Brown honors late father with season-opening performance

FAYETTEVILLE — Sophomore receiver CJ Brown scored the first touchdown of the 2025 season for the Arkansas football team during its 52-7 win over Alabama A&M on Saturday.

Brown caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Taylen Green to cap the opening drive. In the third quarter, Brown caught another touchdown pass, a 14-yarder, from Green. He led the receivers with 2 touchdowns and his 49 yards were second to O’Mega Blake’s 121.

Green completed 24 of 31 passes for 322 yards and 6 touchdowns.

The catches were the first and second career touchdowns for Brown, who has endured an emotional month.
