Arkansas football motivated by outgoing transfers, memories of Ole Miss defeat from last season

FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas football team’s 63-31 loss to Ole Miss on Nov. 2 of last season still stings — particularly with the teams set for a rematch at 6 p.m. Saturday in Oxford, Mississippi.

A total of 310 days passed between what Sam Pittman called an “embarrassing" result and his Monday press conference. The Rebels, who finished just shy of last season’s College Football Playoff, continued throwing the ball when the result was all but certain.

In addition to the loss, three players — tight end Luke Hasz, offensive lineman Patrick Kutas and defensive back Jaylon Braxton — traded Fayetteville for Oxford in the offseason.
