Arkansas’ tumultuous football season took another surprising turn in mid-October when interim defensive coordinator Chris Wilson struck a player in the face inside the team’s locker room, bloodying the player’s lip, multiple sources told CBS Sports.
Seven independent sources confirmed the incident, which occurred during what players described as a routine locker room exchange that quickly escalated. The university launched an investigation after receiving an anonymous tip regarding the confrontation.
What Reportedly Happened
According to sources, the situation began when the 56-year-old Wilson directed an expletive toward the player. When the player questioned who Wilson was speaking to, the coach allegedly repeated the insult, leading to the physical strike that followed.
