FAYETTEVILLE — Alabama A&M rarely had an answer for Taylen Green during the Arkansas football team’s 52-7 season opening victory Saturday at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
Green was 24 of 31 (77%) passing for 322 yards and a career-high 6 passing touchdowns with no interceptions. It tied Brandon Allen (2015 at Ole Miss) for second-most touchdowns in a game in program history. Allen threw 7 touchdowns against Mississippi State in 2015.
It was an encouraging performance for Green in the premiere of his second season with offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino.
Arkansas had 10 different receivers with at least 1 catch, and 4 had at least 29 receiving yards: O’Mega Blake (121 yards), CJ Brown (49), Jalen Brown (44) and Raylen Sharpe (41).
