FAYETTEVILLE — New Arkansas football coach Ryan Silverfield was introduced to the crowd during halftime of the Razorbacks’ basketball game against Louisville on Wednesday night at Bud Walton Arena.
It was the first public appearance for the 45-year-old Silverfield since he was hired three days earlier. He will hold his first news conference Thursday at 1 p.m., followed by a public event at the Walker Pavilion at 5 p.m.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be your head football coach,” Silverfield told the crowd. “Ever since the second the plane landed down in the great state of Arkansas, we have been working tirelessly over the last three days to build you a program that you will be proud of.
