FAYETTEVILLE — The so-called “camp” portion of preseason training ended for the Arkansas Razorbacks last weekend with a scrimmage Saturday and an off day Sunday before classes started Monday.
Though a modern college football camp is a far cry from the days of yore, which sometimes featured three-a-day workouts, the bonus of water or ice as an incentive to “make them tough” and all the live tackling a head coach wanted, they are still a grind and held in the hottest portion of the year.
The Razorbacks under coach Sam Pittman have a somewhat unique approach from a media perspective to camp — and spring drills for that matter — in that each of the 10 assistant coaches cycles through the media interview room to discuss his unit.
