Arkansas expected to hire Guiton as receivers coach

FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas Coach Sam Pittman moved swiftly to replace wide receivers coach Justin Stepp on Sunday.

Pittman is expected to name Kenny Guiton, the former Ohio State quarterback, as the Razorbacks’ new receivers coach as early as Monday, multiple sources told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette late Sunday.

Guiton, 29, worked this season as receivers coach at Colorado State.

The Houston native broke into coaching as a graduate assistant at the University of Houston in 2015 and spent two seasons with the Cougars before taking on a quality control assistant role at Texas. He worked at Houston again in 2017-18, crossing paths with current Arkansas offensive coordinator Kendal Briles, who was the Cougars offensive coordinator in 2018.
