Criticism of Arkansas football’s defense had become a broken record through seven games.
The Hogs entered Saturday’s clash against Auburn ranked 121st in the nation in scoring defense and 126th in total defense. The Tigers, meanwhile, ranked a paltry 95th in scoring offense and 109th in total yardage.
A stoppable force met a movable object.
Auburn started off well with a first quarter touchdown pass from quarterback Jackson Arnold to star wideout Cam Coleman, who made a nice back shoulder grab over Arkansas cornerback Julian Neal. Arnold’s struggles this season led Auburn football coach Hugh Freeze to give backup Ashton Daniels some starting reps in practice this week.
