When leaders of a college football program decide to fire a head coach and go the interim route, it’s usually a last-ditch effort to instill some fight into a dead team.
Arkansas football has gotten that and then some, according to recent reports.
Interim head coach Bobby Petrino’s first order of business after Sam Pittman’s firing was to make a number of changes to the defensive staff, mostly notably firing defensive coordinator Travis Williams and tabbing assistant defensive line coach Chris Wilson as the interim DC.
Such staff changes are always going to create a tenuous situation in an already fragile locker room in the midst of a lost season.
