Arkansas’ first CWS trip was it’s most successful to date. After three straight wins Arkansas looked to be in good position for the title, but fell in two close ones to Fullerton, and they would get their first ever title. The Hogs had actually won their first seven games of that postseason before dropping two to the Titans (no Super Regionals in those days). That World Series had Kevin McReynolds on the Hogs, and also featured future MLB managers Terry Francona and Ron Gardenhire.
