As expected, John Calipari waded into international waters to add to next year’s Arkansas basketball team by landing a commitment from Bosnian big man Elmir Dzafic.
It had been widely speculated and reported that the Hall of Fame coach was pursuing players from overseas to fill out the 2025-26 roster, but the 19-year-old center jumping on board is somewhat of a surprise given his name apparently didn’t pop up until Wednesday — less than 24 hours before ESPN’s Jonathan Givony broke news of the commitment.
Listed at 7-foot, 265 pounds, Dzafic provides the Razorbacks with a third true 5 man to back up heralded transfers Malique Ewin (6-11, 230) from Florida State and Nick Pringle (6-10, 225) from South Carolina.
