Arkansas' Bri Ellis named Softball America's National Player of the Year

FAYETTEVILLE — Softball America named Arkansas first baseman Bri Ellis its national player of the year Tuesday.

She is the first player in program history to earn a national player of the year award from a major publication.

“I will never miss the opportunity to talk about how much work she's put in,” Arkansas coach Courtney Deifel said last week. “She did not luck into this. Obviously, she's incredibly talented. I'm not going to take that away. But she has never just rested on, ‘I have a skill set.’ No, she's grinded every day. You're never going to find a day she's not in there working.
