Arkansas basketball wins big over James Madison in nonconference finale

FAYETTEVILLE — The 18th-ranked Arkansas men’s basketball team did not have any trouble shaking off the rust Monday night.

The Razorbacks (10-3) defeated James Madison 103-74 at Bud Walton Arena in their first game in nine days and final game before they are scheduled to open SEC play against 19th-ranked Tennessee on Saturday.

“That was something we needed after nine days off,” Arkansas coach John Calipari said on the Razorback Sports Network postgame show.

Freshman guards Meleek Thomas and Darius Acuff combined for 45 points. Thomas scored 28 points and Acuff had 17 points with 6 assists.
