Arkansas basketball signee JJ Andrews 'trending in the right direction' after injury at Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas men’s basketball signee JJ Andrews left Little Rock Christian Academy’s game against Fayetteville High School in an ambulance Friday.

Andrews was fouled as he was attempting a dunk. He went down hard and was immediately attended to by on-site personnel at the Hoopin’ on The Hill Kretschmar Invitational.

He was awake, moving and speaking when responders took him off the floor.

“They said, as he got into the ambulance, he was more awake, more moving, more mobile,” LRCA coach Tyler Wayman said. “It was trending in the right direction.”

Wayman went to the hospital following the game.
