FAYETTEVILLE — The second chapter of Arkansas basketball under coach John Calipari got off to a high-flying start Friday night at Bud Walton Arena.
Behind a 53% shooting performance, 12 dunks and strong debuts from freshman guards Darius Acuff and Meleek Thomas, the Razorbacks blew out Cincinnati 89-61.
It marked the third season in a row for Arkansas to defeat a Power 4 program in a home exhibition. The Razorbacks downed preseason No. 1 Kansas last year and preseason No. 3 Purdue in 2023.
Arkansas, which led by as many as 35 points, will play its final exhibition game Monday at Memphis.
