FAYETTEVILLE — The 25th-ranked Arkansas men’s basketball team started hot and ended strong to take down one of college basketball’s 20 remaining unbeaten teams Wednesday night.
The Razorbacks defeated sixth-ranked Louisville 89-80 at Bud Walton Arena as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge.
Arkansas (6-2) used a 6-0 run in the closing minutes to create some separation after the Cardinals (7-1) pulled within 81-76 on Isaac McKneely’s 3-pointer with 2:48 remaining.
Darius Acuff found Trevon Brazile for a dunk on the next possession, and after Meleek Thomas made a slick pass to get out of a trap in the backcourt following a defensive stop, Acuff had a driving layup to put the Razorbacks ahead 85-76.
