FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas basketball freshman guard Boogie Fland underwent thumb surgery in New York on Wednesday, according to a press release from the Razorbacks.

No timetable was given for Fland’s return to play. He will rehab the injury with Arkansas’ training staff.

Citing sources, a CBS Sports report Tuesday stated Fland would miss the remainder of the season.

The injury was to the ulnar collateral ligament in Fland’s right thumb. The surgery was performed by Dr. Bob Hotchkiss at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Fland is from The Bronx, N.Y.

Fland wore a heavy wrap around his right hand in losses at LSU and Missouri last week.
