Arkansas basketball beats Memphis by 24 after trailing by 15

John Calipari’s first time coaching a game against Memphis at FedEx Forum started ugly but ended pretty with his Arkansas team dismantling his former program in exhibition play Monday night.

After falling behind 29-14 in the first half, the 14th-ranked Razorbacks outscored Memphis by 39 points over the game’s final 28 minutes to complete an undefeated preseason slate with a 99-75 victory over the Tigers.

The win came three days after Arkansas defeated Cincinnati 89-61 in Fayetteville. It was the final tuneup for the Razorbacks ahead of the season opener against Southern next Monday.

Before the game, Calipari said on the Razorback Sports Network pregame radio show that the mission for his team was to play hard, compete, be together and play unselfish with good passes.
