FAYETTEVILLE — Incoming Arkansas outfielder Maika Niu was named winner of the Pat Sorenti Award on Sunday as the most valuable player of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
In 35 games playing for the Falmouth Commodores, Niu batted .280 with an .872 OPS. He hit a league-leading 8 home runs, plus 4 doubles and 1 triple with 23 RBI. His RBI total ranks second in the CCBL, which is considered the premier wood-bat summer league for college players.
Niu is transferring to the Razorbacks from Marshall for his final season of eligibility in 2026. The 6-1, 180-pound native of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
