Arkansas baseball shortstop Wehiwa Aloy a finalist for Golden Spikes Award

FAYETTEVILLE — The NCAA Fayetteville Super Regional will include two-thirds of the finalists for the Golden Spikes Award.

Arkansas shortstop Wehiwa Aloy and Tennessee left-handed pitcher Liam Doyle are joined by Florida State shortstop Alex Lodise as finalists for this year’s award for national player of the year. The winner will be announced by USA Baseball on June 21 at the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.

Aloy is the Razorbacks’ fifth finalist for the award and second in as many seasons. Outfielder Andrew Benintendi (2015) and pitcher Kevin Kopps (2021) won the Golden Spikes, and pitchers Phillip Stidham (1991) and Hagen Smith (2024) were finalists.
