FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas pitcher Parker Coil is expected to miss at least the month of April with a back injury, Razorbacks coach Dave Van Horn said Thursday.
Coil aggravated his back while warming up in the bullpen for a game at Vanderbilt last Saturday. He has not pitched in a game since March 23 against South Carolina.
The junior left-hander has been arguably the Razorbacks’ best bullpen arm with a 0.60 ERA, 1.07 WHIP in 15 innings over 10 appearances.
“I feel bad for him,” Van Horn said. “As far as the team, that was a weapon for us out of the bullpen, so to speak.
