Arkansas baseball notebook: Pay raises make Razorbacks competitive with other SEC teams

FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas baseball team has increased its salary pool for assistant coaches.

The Razorbacks’ assistant coaching staff of Matt Hobbs, Nate Thompson and Bobby Wernes will be paid a cumulative salary of $952,500 for the 2025-26 school year, based on contracts that were discovered through a Freedom of Information Act request.

That is a 36% increase from the $700,000 paid to Arkansas’ assistants last season when the Razorbacks went 50-15 and finished as a national semifinalist at the College World Series.

It also brings Arkansas in line with the more competitive salaries paid by SEC teams.
