FAYETTEVILLE — Third baseman Brent Iredale recorded one of Arkansas baseball's defensive highlights of the year Friday during the fifth-ranked Razorbacks' 8-4 victory over 14th-ranked Tennessee.
With Arkansas leading 5-4 with 1 out in the top of the fourth inning, Iredale laid out to catch 2-hole hitter Andrew Fischer's foul ball. Iredale's head and neck area made contact with the padded wall near the Volunteers' dugout.
“Thank God we have pad on that wall,” Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said. “That was my immediate thought.”
Iredale remained on the ground for about a minute after hitting the wall.
