Arkansas baseball leans on fall experiences a year ago

FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas baseball team changed the way it conducted fall practice a year ago and liked the results.

The Razorbacks focused less on intrasquad scrimmages and more on skill work during the 45-day fall period last September and October. That helped produce a 50-15 campaign that included a trip to the national semifinals at the College World Series.

“I thought it pushed us forward as far as knowing a little more about our team, and then development, I thought we jumped a couple of months by doing it that way,” Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said.
