FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas fell one spot to No. 6 in the first USA Today Baseball Coaches Poll of the regular season Monday.
The Razorbacks (6-1) were jumped by Mississippi State (8-0) for the No. 5 ranking. The Bulldogs were ranked sixth in the preseason and received a first-place vote Monday.
The top four teams in the poll — LSU, UCLA, Texas and Georgia Tech — remained unchanged. LSU received 14 first-place votes and UCLA 15 first-place votes.
Arkansas increased its winning streak to five games with a series sweep of Xavier over the weekend by scores of 5-2, 7-6 and 11-0.
