Arkansas baseball blows out Creighton to advance to Fayetteville Regional title round

FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas baseball team showed the completeness Saturday night at Baum-Walker Stadium that has made the Razorbacks one of the favorites to challenge for a national championship.

Junior left-hander Zach Root threw 6 scoreless innings, Wehiwa Aloy and Ryder Helfrick hit 2 home runs apiece and Arkansas played solid defense during a 12-1 victory over Creighton in the winners bracket game of the NCAA Fayetteville Regional.

The Razorbacks (45-13) advanced to the regional championship round and will play Sunday at 8 p.m. against the winner of a Sunday afternoon game between Creighton (42-15) and North Dakota State (21-33).
