FAYETTEVILLE — When Arkansas takes the field Saturday at 11 a.m. for a spring practice scrimmage, a more confident Bumper Pool will be front and center.
Pool (6-2, 223 pounds), who will be a sophomore linebacker, was thrust into action last season when senior Dre Greenlaw went down with an injury.
He played 340 snaps - 275 on defense and 65 on special teams - in 10 games, and started four time at linebacker.
“Last year I was a deer in the headlights just trying to soak everything in, “ Pool said, “and now it's knowing my job, but not only that, it's knowing the whole defense and where I fit in in the defense and what we're supposed to do in disguising coverages.
