Alabama coach Avery Johnson, having played nearly two decades in the NBA alongside a number of the greatest to ever play the game, would know a professional basketball player when he saw one.
Without a doubt, Johnson said Saturday, Daniel Gafford is just that.
In what could potentially have been his final game in Bud Walton Arena, Gafford went out with an otherworldly, extraterrestrial-type performance against the Crimson Tide, dropping 29 points on 11-of-17 from the floor to go with a career-best 16 rebounds.
For good measure, he added two assists and blocked a pair of shots in the win.
