FAYETTEVILLE — Alan Zahn was a key cog for the Arkansas basketball team during the program’s late-1970s growth under legendary coach Eddie Sutton.

Playing alongside “The Triplets” — Ron Brewer, Marvin Delph and Sidney Moncrief — Zahn helped the Razorbacks to the 1978 Final Four as a sophomore. The 6-7, 200-pound forward was a role player on that team before blossoming into a starter over his final two seasons.

Arkansas had a combined 104-19 record during his 4-year career from 1976-80.

Following college, Zahn was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in the seventh round of the 1980 NBA Draft.
