After taking JUCO route, cornerback Keshawn Davila focused on development with Arkansas football

FAYETTEVILLE — Junior defensive back Keshawn Davila decided to publicly show off his speed on the evening of June 17. At 9:43 p.m., he posted his top speed of 22.17 mph to social media, accelerating past second-place slot receiver Kam Shanks with a 21.81 mph attempt.

It was from 20 yards, though the distance of the drill varied by day for speedsters on the University of Arkansas football team. Davila wasn’t pompous. Sometimes he’d win, sometimes Shanks would. But that doesn’t sound like the Davila from Northwest Mississippi Community College.

“A lot of those [teammates] get together,” Northwest Mississippi defensive coordinator Paige Anders told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
