A Nearly Cinematic Thread Ties The Alijah Arenas Injury to Musselman’s Arkansas Downfall

Steven Spielberg’s 1975 “Jaws” celebrated its 50th anniversary last month. Considered the original blockbuster motion picture, fans and historians celebrate the movie as one of the greatest of all-time. They don’t, however, do so much for its first sequel, “Jaws: The Revenge.” NPR didn’t tackle a retrospective look at the 1987 flick that, incidentally, was released around this time 37 years ago. That movie focuses on Ellen Brody, wife of the original protagonist, who is chased from Amity, Mass., to the Bahamas by a shark that killed her adult son.

Moviegoers at the time laughed at the absurdity.
