The No. 1 reason for the Arkansas softball team taking the nation’s No. 1 spot came out loud and clear on Wednesday. The Razorbacks had wrangled the top spot away from Oklahoma in the Softball America poll after taking down LSU last weekend to win its sixth straight SEC series to close the regular season and on Wednesday defending their standing in fine order when Bri Ellis broke the UA — and tied the SEC — single-season record for home runs with a walk-off grand slam against Georgia.
The back-breaker gave Arkansas its first win in the tournament since it won the title in 2022.
