7 former Razorbacks make MLB 30-man rosters

Seven former Arkansas baseball players made Opening Day rosters for the 2020 Major League Baseball season.

Former Razorbacks on rosters this year include catcher James McCann and pitcher Dallas Keuchel of the Chicago White Sox; infielder Brian Anderson and pitcher Ryne Stanek of the Miami Marlins; outfielder Andrew Benintendi of the Boston Red Sox; pitcher Drew Smyly of the San Francisco Giants; and pitcher Jalen Beeks of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Colin Poche, a pitcher who began his career at Arkansas before transferring to Dallas Baptist, is on the Rays' injured list.

Organizations started summer training sessions July 1 with a 60-man roster, but had to cut that number in half for the start of the season, which begins with two games Thursday night.
