5 current, former Arkansas track and field athletes win Jamaican national titles

With the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo fast approaching, track and field athletes around the world are competing to make their national teams ahead of the event Sept. 13-21.

The Jamaican National Championships were held Thursday-Sunday in Kingston, Jamaica, and five current or former Arkansas track and field athletes won gold. Two others took silver.

Arkansas alumna Nickisha Pryce won her third consecutive Jamaican title in the 400 meters with a season-best time of 49.97. She is the country's record-holder in the event, having run 48.57 in the London Diamond League in 2024.

Current Razorback Joanne Reid placed seventh in the 400 in 52.
