3-star defensive tackle Carnell Jackson reopens recruitment from Arkansas football

FAYETTEVILLE — Defensive tackle Carnell Jackson Jr. is the latest defensive prospect to reopen his recruitment since Arkansas dismissed coach Sam Pittman and three defensive assistants.

Jackson, 6-3 and 342 pounds, of Auburn, Ala., chose Arkansas over scholarship offers from South Florida, Tulane, Alabama-Birmingham, Memphis and several others in April.

Pittman was fired Sunday after the Razorbacks' lopsided 56-13 loss to Notre Dame on Saturday.

Defensive coordinator Travis Williams, co-defensive coordinator Marcus Woodson and defensive line coach Deke Adams were dismissed on Monday.

A consensus 3-star recruit, Jackson is the third defensive pledge to reopen his recruiting after the firing of the Razorback coaches.
