FAYETTEVILLE — Defensive lineman Ari Slocum reopened his recruitment Tuesday after being committed to Arkansas since January.
Slocum, 6-4 and 300 pounds, of Farmerville, (La.) Union Parish, chose the Razorbacks over Missouri, Houston, Purdue and others.
A consensus 3-star recruit, Slocum was recruited by former defensive line coach Deke Adams, who was fired on Monday. It came one day after Sam Pittman was fired as head coach.
Defensive coordinator Travis Williams and co-defensive coordinator Marcus Woodson were also dismissed on Monday.
Slocum is the fifth defensive pledge to reopen his recruiting after the firing of the Razorback coaches.
