Chad Morris Replacements: Top 10 Candidates For The Next Arkansas Razorbacks Head Coach In 2020

Arkansas Football announced Chad Morris is fired as head coach, meaning it is now searching for the next Arkansas head coach. So who are the top candidates to replace Chad Morris as the Razorbacks head coach? We’ve got the top Arkansas targets and some realistic options.

There are some big names Arkansas could hire, like Guz Malzahn and Mike Leach, but is the Arkansas job good enough to merit that type of name? Would the top coach candidates want the Arkansas rebuilding job?

Proven coaches should be high on Arkansas’ head coach candidate list and there are several who make sense. They are at smaller schools, but Memphis’ Mike Norvell and North Texas’ Seth Littrell have done solid work. So has Tulane’s Willie Fritz and Louisiana’s Billy Napier. And what about more notable names like FAU’s Lane Kiffin and Louisiana Tech’s Skip Holtz?

Arkansas Football could go with a coordinator hire, and one in particular makes sense: Alabama OC Steve Sarkisian. One more wild card name: LSU assistant Joe Brady.

Morris’ firing won’t be cheap: It will cost about $10 million, plus money owed to assistant coaches who will be fired once the next head coach is hired. Morris struggled in less than 2 years, showing no signs of growth, forcing a change.
