BOONE, N.C. – Little Rock's Shanieke Watson earned a sixth-place finish at the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Championships on the campus of Appalachian State on Saturday morning.
The 5K race featured 81 runners from all 12 Sun Belt Conference schools.
Watson crossed the finish line with a time of 17:57.6 — her third-best 5K time of the season.
Freshman Vianney Sanchez was the Trojans' next runner to cross the finish line as she placed 43 with a time of 19:03.5. Finishing right behind her in 44th was sophomore Hunter Paul with a time of 19:05.
