Trojans win first of season

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock opened a 39-23 halftime advantage and were never threatened in the final 20 minutes Sunday in winning their first game of the season, 70-55, over Norfolk State at the Jack Stephens Center.

UALR (1-5) led 19-16 with 7:25 left in the first half before going on a 20-7 run to take their 16-point lead at intermission. The Trojans led by as many as 26 points (56-30) after two free throws by Cameron Corcoran with 8:10 left in the game.

The Trojans had no player score in double figures, but had four players -- Andre Jones, Camron Reedus, Wadly Mompremier and Jaizec Lottie -- all score nine points.
