BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Trojan men's track and field team had four top-10 finishes and placed three new times in the Trojans' top-10 history books at the Samford Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
In the 200 on Friday night, Michael McGruder placed fifth in the field with a time of 21.71 seconds. Dez Mapps wasn't far behind, taking 11th in 21.93 seconds.
The next day, McGruder and Mapps competed in the 60-meter dash, with McGruder qualifying for the finals with a time of 6.87 seconds in the prelims. Also in the prelims, Mapps ran the race in 6.
