NEW ORLEANS – Following a spectacular week where she nearly averaged a double-double and set a new career high for points scored in a game, Teal Battle has been named the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week.
Battle shot an astounding .607 from the field (17 for 28) while averaging 21.5 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game as the Trojans went 2-0 last week. The junior scored a career-high 25 points in the team's win over Appalachian State while posting three assists and three blocks on the week. Battle dominated the lane against App State, playing all 40 minutes and grabbing nine rebounds.
