Strong defensive effort sparks UALR’s comeback vs. UCA

Arkansas-Little Rock erased a 14-point second-half deficit, outscoring Central Arkansas 34-11 over the final 17:21 to earn a 57-48 victory Saturday evening at the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock.

UALR (3-5) held the Sugar Bears to 2-of-19 shooting, including 0 of 7 from three-point range, in the fourth quarter. For the game, UCA shot 19 of 60 (31.7%) from the field and 4 of 13 (30.8%) on three-pointers.

Shae Littleford entered the game averaging a team-high 15.6 points per game for the Sugar Bears (6-3), but she scored just four points on 1-of-9 shooting Saturday.

"We played really well defensively and we have the last three or four games," UALR Coach Steve Wiedower said.
