NEW ORLEANS – Little Rock forward Sali Kourouma averaged 22.5 points per game, shooting nearly 43 percent from the field, in the opening week of the 2021-22 season and has been named the Sun Belt Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Kourouma, a transfer from Grayson College where she was named her league's Newcomer of the Year in 2020-21, scored 30 points in Little Rock's 56-40 win at Vanderbilt last Friday night. Over the course of the week, she shot 42.9 percent (15-for-35) from the field and 81.3 percent (13-of-16) from the free-throw line.
