Little Rock senior A’lanae Margaritha’s dominant opening weekend got the attention of a lot of people, including those at the Ohio Valley Conference, which named her Offensive Player of the Week on Monday in the first weekly awards of the new season.
Margaritha earned eight of the 11 first-place votes in the weekly ballot after earning All-Tournament recognition during the Lion Invitational, hosted by East Texas A&M. The middle blocker from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic led the Trojans (2-1) to a pair of victories over three matches.
“We’re very proud of Margaritha, she was very consistent throughout the weekend with her hitting percentage on offense and blocks on the defensive side.
