Little Rock Strikes First, But Late Innings Prove Costly in 16-8 Loss in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Little Rock raced to an early lead, putting six runs on the scoreboard through the first three innings against second-ranked Arkansas, the Razorbacks rallied in the late innings to hand the Trojans a 16-8 loss at Baum-Walker Stadium Tuesday evening.

The Trojans scored eight runs on 12 hits, including the first six runs of the game. But 14 unanswered by the Razorbacks from the fifth through eighth innings proved to be the difference as Little Rock falls to 11-11 on the season.

After struggling with timely hits all weekend against App State, the Trojan bats came awake early against Arkansas, beginning with leadoff walks to Jorden Hussein and Nathan Lyons in the first.
