NEW ORLEANS – When Leigh Maher transferred to Little Rock from LSU, the defensive specialist knew she could make an impact in the Sun Belt Conference. She may not have known that impact would be felt so quickly.
After just one match in a Trojan uniform, Maher was named the Sun Belt Conference's Defensive Player of the Week after registering a career-high 21 digs against Missouri State Sunday afternoon.
Maher added three assists to her tally – another career high – as Little Rock opened its 2020 season.
