You wouldn’t have known it from the 18 points he effortlessly poured in and his collected demeanor in his post-game interview, but there was something weighing heavily on Dusan Ristic’s mind before he took the court on Thursday night — and it had nothing to do with basketball.
Earlier in the day, Ristic learned that his grandfather had passed away.
“Unlike a lot of kids on our team, it’s not like he’s going to be able to go home,” head coach Sean Miller said after Arizona’s 66-56 win over Utah. “So he knew that and just to watch him handle that.
