LAFAYETTE, La. – When they finally played their winners’ bracket game here Sunday, the Arizona Wildcats didn’t have their best stuff. They’re going to need it to have any chance to win the Lafayette Regional.
Arizona lost to host and top seed Louisiana-Lafayette 10-3 in front of a partisan crowd at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field, setting up the following scenario:
UA must defeat Sam Houston State on Sunday night and ULL twice Monday to advance.

It will require sharper play than what the Wildcats displayed Saturday, when they fell behind 3-0 in the first inning and rarely threatened the Ragin’ Cajuns.
