Central Michigan athletic director Dave Heeke is expected to accept the same job at Arizona, the Free Press has learned.
Heeke, who has held the AD job at CMU since January 2006, would replace Greg Byrne in Tuscon, after Byrne left for Alabama.
Multiple people with knowledge of the decision confirmed the move.
Heeke did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
An East Lansing native, Heeke has been in discussions for other major-college AD jobs over the recent years but didn’t land any of them.

Heeke previously spent 18 years at Oregon, where he rose to become the senior associate athletics director/chief of staff.
